How do I work?
This page will tell you a bit more about the rules I follow.
What aging system do you use?
I am working on the aging system of 1 real month = 1 Sim year.
I will only breed a each Dam and Sire once per Sim year.
My animals age up on the 1st of every month.
Do you use real genetics?
Yes! I follow real life genetics. It was difficult to get my head round at first and I still don't understand the more complicated coat patterns yet but I fully understand the breeds I work with.
How do you decide what genetics the puppies will have?
As well as following real life genetics, I randomize my litters. In real life you cannot choose what genetics the puppies will have and so I don't in my game either!
I use Punnet squares to determine all possible coat outcomes. I then use a random number generator for numbers 2 - 6 to tell me how many puppies there will be.
After this, I number all the possible outcomes as numbers. So to keep this very simple, if I bred a pair of Labradors and the possible outcomes are as follows:
2 chances of black, 2 chances of brown
So I would label the possible outcomes 1 - 4 and then use the random number generator for as many puppies as I will have.
This keeps it so that I cannot choose the puppies and it is random as it should be while still using real genetics :)
If anyone has any more questions you can think may need an answer, contact me and I will add them!
